A Promise Fulfilled

Throughout the month of December, the messages in our church services are focused on the promises given in the Old Testament regarding the Messiah and the fulfillment shown in the New Testament. This week we will be looking at the promises found in the genealogy of Jesus.
As we move through this study, I am impressed with the simple but profound truth that every promise God fulfilled is a reminder that He is always true to His Word. The birth of Christ was not a last-minute plan, but the fulfillment of promises spoken centuries before—promises woven through families, generations, and even failures.
I am especially thankful for the promises that are not yet fulfilled. The same God who kept His Word in the past will keep His Word today and tomorrow. We can trust Him because His character does not change. His faithfulness is not seasonal. His promises are sure.
Isaiah 7:14 (KJV)“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
As we celebrate the coming of Christ, may we also look forward with confidence, knowing that every remaining promise of God is just as certain as the ones already fulfilled.
