“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” – Psalm 119:105

When we walk through life, there are so many moments when the road ahead feels uncertain. We long to know the next step, to see where God is leading us. The psalmist reminds us that God has given us exactly what we need—His Word. Scripture is not just a book of history or moral lessons; it is the living Word of God, shining light into the darkness and showing us the way forward.
Many times we may find ourselves wishing God would speak audibly, giving clear instructions. But the truth is, He already has. Every time we open our Bible, we hear His voice. For those who belong to Christ, the Holy Spirit dwells within us, guiding us and making God’s Word alive and personal. He takes the words on the page and applies them directly to our hearts, showing us the path uniquely designed for each of us.
As we faithfully read and obey the Word, we don’t always get the whole picture at once—but we get the next step. Just as a lamp lights the ground directly before us, God’s Word gives us enough light to trust Him with today. And as we continue to walk in that light, He leads us safely along the path He has prepared.
Reflection:
Am I looking to God’s Word daily for direction, or am I trying to walk by my own dim understanding?
Do I trust the Holy Spirit to use Scripture to guide me, even when I don’t see the full road ahead?
Prayer:
“Lord, thank You for giving me Your Word as a lamp for my feet. Help me to trust the light You provide, step by step. Teach me to listen to the Spirit and walk faithfully in the path You have prepared for me.”
