Luke 2:8–20

When God announced the birth of His Son, He didn’t begin in a palace or a temple. He went to a field. Ordinary shepherds, faithfully watching their flocks by night, were the first to hear the greatest news the world has ever known.

Why shepherds? Because the gospel is not reserved for the important or impressive. It is for the humble, the overlooked, and the willing. When the angels spoke, the shepherds didn’t debate or delay—they went “with haste” to see Jesus. And after they met Him, they couldn’t keep quiet about what they had seen.

The same Christ who was revealed to shepherds still invites us today. We don’t have to be special—just willing. When we come to Jesus, we are changed, and our lives become a testimony of praise.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” — Luke 2:11 (KJV)

May we have the faith of the shepherds: to go, to see, and to glorify God
